Calculations

Nexus is a collaboration between StellaSpark, who develops and hosts the platform, and Calculation Developers, who can use Nexus to deploy their own calculations in the cloud. Calculations may be developed by partner organizations, who can use Nexus as platform to publish and sell their own proprietary calculation models as a 'calculation-as-a-service' to customers. Customers themselves can also deploy their in-house calculations to Nexus, thereby leveraging the computing power, data storage and visualisation possibilities that Nexus offers.

Nexus for Calculation Developers

Nexus as platform handles basic tasks, such as data harvesting, standardization, caching and presentation. Calculation Developers can leverage these functionalities and plug their own calculation models into the platform. This allows calculations to be run on a guaranteed set of up-to-date data and present uniform and user-friendly results. Calculations can range from simple scripts that do data preprocessing or automate boring workflows, to advanced scientific simulation models.

Calculation Developers receive a Nexus account with Expert privileges that allows for direct interaction with the Nexus Database and develop their calculations in any programming language. Calculation Developers always keep complete ownership of their models.

Stay in control of your code

If your organization has a Nexus subscription, you may keep your calculations private to your organization. In that case, other organizations will not be able to subscribe to that calculation and access its results. However, you can also decide to publish your calculation and give other organizations an opportunity to subscribe to your Calculation results. In that case, you need to sign a Nexus Partner Agreement and determine a monthly price that you want to receive for any organization that subscribes to your calculation. Organizations pay a monthly subscription for use of the Nexus base platform and any additional Calculations that they are subscribed to. StellaSpark takes care of monitoring calculation use by the client organizations, handles invoicing, and forwards revenues to the Calculation Developers.
